Motorola seems to be working on a new model called the Edge 70 Ultra, which will be the successor of its current flagship Edge 50 Ultra. The specs of the new product have been made public due to its listing on Geekbench, even though the company has not announced the launch date yet.
The listing indicates the presence of a Motorola device bearing the model number XT2603-1, equipped with a chipset that has octa-core configuration and is based on ARMv8 architecture. The chip has a base frequency of 3.32GHz and is reported to have two prime cores at 3.65GHz and six performance cores at 3.32GHz. Some speculate that this arrangement is an indication of the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset that has not yet been marketed, while it is a bit at odds with the previous leaks that suggested the prime cores would be at 3.8GHz.
The Edge 70 Ultra is to be the RAM king with 16GB of memory; Geekbench data show around 14.96GB. The operating system will be Android 16. There is an Adreno 829 GPU on board and a motherboard with the code name "vantage." The handset, using Geekbench 6.5.0 for Android AArch64, scored 2,636 points for its single-core performance and 7,475 points for multi-core performance.
There seems to be an OLED display with 1.5K resolution fitted in this device as reported. It is like Motorola's Ultra series in the past. This year the Edge 60 series was introduced without the Ultra variant, but the Edge 70 Ultra could be that gap-filler.
The cell phone is likely to come as Moto X70 Ultra in China and Edge 70 Ultra in the rest of the world.
The recent benchmark listing discloses early information about the next flagship of Motorola, indicating the inclusion of powerful hardware and increased memory for demanding users, while still no official details about the launch four days in the future.
